Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop B takes delivery of new 1933 Chevrolet patrol cars at A.J. Noll Motor Company, 200 block of East Bourke Street, 1933.  On April 3, 1931, A.J. Noll, along with J.W. Nisbeth, purchased Smith’s Chevrolet franchise and Big 4 Trails Garage pictured here.

 

 

A.J. Noll Motor Company, 200 block of East Bourke Street, looking southwest, March 1956.  Visible on the far right is the unique three-story Thomas Building at the southeast corner of Rubey and Bourke Streets.  Built in 1911, the second Cleaver Brothers’ Grocery Store occupied the ground floor of this building in the mid- to late-1940s.  There are reports that at various times a roller rink occupied the second floor, public school classes were conducted on the upper floors, and that court was also convened on the second floor of this building.  The third story burned in 1969 and was subsequently removed.
