The car was to be manufactured in the converted Blees Carriage Company building at the northeast corner of Oak Street and the Wabash Railroad, which subsequently burned to the ground on May 16, 1917. The company’s receiver was awarded $60,000 in May 1920 after it sued the Wabash Railroad for $250,000 claiming that flaming debris from a Wabash steam locomotive had ignited the fires that burned both the Macon Wabash Depot and then The All-Steel Motor Car Company factory.
