Wallace Smith’s Red Eagle Oil Company Filling Station, northeast corner of Vine and Rubey Streets, circa 1927. The delivery trucks appear to be new 1927 Chevrolets. A.J. Noll and J.W. Nisbeth, purchased the Red Eagle Oil Company, Smith’s Motors Big 4 Trails dealership in the 200 block of East Bourke Street, and the local Chevrolet franchise from Wallace Smith on April 3, 1931.

NevrNox Ethyl™ gasoline globes seen on the two center pumps were used from 1933 until 1936. The Royal Theatre can be seen towering above the station. Over the years, Mid-Continent Petroleum merged with Sunray, D-X and Sun Oil Company who eventually became Sunoco, Inc.
